Brazil
At Saco do Batismo, the huge rocks on the bottom form passages between them, like small caves. In these caves, the fish known locally as frades are common, along with schools of fish that live in holes, and towards Saco do Capim it is common to find turtles resting or sleeping. Rays and flatfish often appear on the sand, as well as the fish known locally as trilha. Two ascidians have also been recorded at the site: the colonial Euherdmania vitrea, collected on a vertical wall in May 2002, and Lissoclinum perforatum, recorded in November 2000.
