Brazil
Saco da Lama lies at Ilha da Queimada Grande, whose name comes from the old fishermen's practice of setting fire to the coastal forest to drive away the snakes when they needed to land. The waters around the island hold the southernmost coral reef in the Atlantic Ocean. Queimada Grande is known for its schools of cubera snappers (Lutjanus cyanopterus), fish that reach 50 kg, and its waters also have parrotfish, damselfish and moray eels. In the region, the best visibility conditions tend to occur between November and March.
