Brazil
Rio Azuis is considered the smallest river in Brazil and Latin America and the third smallest in the world. The name Azuis comes from the clarity of the water, with blue-green stones on the riverbed.
The water stays between 25 and 27 °C and, the colder the weather, the warmer it feels. Many local people get into the river at night. Small fish and a crab have been seen at the site.
In 2017, an inspection by the State Public Prosecutor's Office and Naturatins found serious environmental damage at Rio Azuis, such as a lack of riparian vegetation, buildings in a prohibited area and cars and trucks driving over the spring.
