The brigantine Resolução, coming from Angola, was wrecked and was assisted by the brig Correio de Lisboa, an episode reported in an official letter dated 2 February 1818. The Resolução is among the shipwrecks of the Parque Estadual Marinho do Parcel de Manuel Luís whose information was considered solid enough for an on-site investigation. It was a wooden sailing ship, and because it is so old it would hardly be located in a short, isolated survey, requiring dedicated research programmes. There is also a hypothesis, presented only as speculation, that the "Fragata Portuguesa" mentioned for the Parcel is actually the brig Resolução, since no frigate of the Portuguese navy is thought to have sunk in the park.
