Brazil
This Brazilian tugboat, said to have been named Cobra, was working on the construction of the EMBASA submarine outfall when a strong storm sank it, along with a barge and a launch. It had a steel hull and a diesel engine, and it sank without cargo. The launch was salvaged, but the barge still lies sunk a few metres from the shore. No news of the accident was found in the newspapers of the time, and the date of the sinking is uncertain: the versions range from 1970 to 1974.
The internal parts and the engine were removed by divers, and the deckhouse was badly damaged, but it can easily be crossed from one side to the other. At the bow there are still a winch and the mooring cleat. On the starboard side there are three large tyres, which probably served as fenders during the tugboat's work. Frades, Ciliaris, Tricolors and Budiões move around the wreckage among schools of palombetas and olhos-de-cão.
