Brazil
The name of Praia Domingas Dias is believed to come from a former resident, Mr. Domingos Dias, and over time visitors began calling it "Domingas Dias". At the right-hand end of the beach a freshwater stream runs down from the mountains, with a spout that beachgoers use to cool off.
From the sand you can see Praia do Costa, the far right end of Praia da Fortaleza and Pontão da Fortaleza, as well as Enseada da Fortaleza and Ilha do Mar Virado, where there are dive sites for those who already have experience. The sea is usually calm for most of the year, but not always. On outings around the region, between Ilha dos Porcos, Ilha Rachada and the coves of Sununga and Lázaro, plenty of marine life has been recorded, including dozens of dolphins and turtles.
