Brazil
Praia do Cação is a small, preserved cove with about 65 m of sand, surrounded by Atlantic Forest and rocks. In the water, the colorful marine life stands out. The beach lies within the Parque Natural do Morro do Macaco, in the western part of the area known as Cauda da Baleia, and has no facilities at all: there is no restroom, shop or restaurant.
A rock on the beach is used by visitors as a natural diving board to jump into the sea. The sun sets right in front of the beach's sea, and the late-afternoon boat trip is very popular. In winter, the pirate boat trip that goes to the beach is usually suspended.
