The left-hand corner of Praia da Lagoinha has large houses and few kiosks, and it is where the Trilha das 7 Praias (Seven Beaches Trail) begins. The trail passes the beaches of Oeste, Peres, Bonete, Grande do Bonete, Deserto and Cedro do Sul, ending at Fortaleza. The name Lagoinha comes from the mouth of the river that flows into the beach, which used to be very wide and formed a lagoon.
