Brazil
Posto 6, at this end of Copacabana Beach, is where the beach's famous turtles are found. On Rio's underwater trails, the clear-water season usually runs from February to April, and February and March tend to be the best months, with calm seas and mild water.
Posto 6 is home to the Posto Seis branch of the Z-13 Fishing Colony, which took shape in the area in the first decades of the 20th century and was officially established on 29 June 1923. The colony turned 100 in 2023 and brings an unusual bustle to this end of Copacabana Beach. Every morning, from 5 a.m., the Posto Seis fishermen start work and head out to sea to earn their living. In the morning you can watch the fishing boats come in and visit the Posto 6 fish market, next to Forte de Copacabana.
