Brazil
Ponta dos Pilotos marks the start of a strip along Ilha Santa Bárbara regarded as a south-wind anchorage, which runs up to the level of the island's houses. Ilha Santa Bárbara is about 1500 m long, 500 m wide and 35 m high, with sandy beaches, boulder beaches, rocky cliffs and wave-cut platforms. On the western part of Ilha Santa Bárbara, covered in low vegetation, there is a large colony of masked boobies (Sula dactylatra).
