Brazil
Unlike the pools at Maragogi, which require a boat, the one at Barra de São Miguel forms right next to the sand: the barrier sits a few meters from the beach and, at low tide, the pool stretches along almost the entire shoreline. At low tide, it gathers fish of many species and other marine organisms. The sea urchins Eucidaris tribuloides and Lytechinus variegatus have been recorded at Barra de São Miguel. In the region, the sea usually regains its clarity from September to November, as the dry weather returns, while June to August, when rainfall is high, tends to be the least suitable period for those seeking clear water.
