Brazil
The Paquetá was a small Brazilian-flagged cargo ship, about 60 m long. She is said to have struck the reefs at the northern tip of Baía de Benevente and, after the impact, sought shelter in the Iriri cove, where she sank.
The ship is broken behind the wheelhouse. The bow rests on the bottom and shows the hawsepipe, the anchor and the winch, while behind the wheelhouse the hull lies on its port side, with a large crane.
Along the Iriri coast, divers observe lobsters, octopuses, corals, turtles and rare species. In summer, there can be good diving conditions on the Paquetá.
