Brazil
The wreck off Praia dos Ingleses shelters many animals and a large number of sea urchins. It has many iron points, so the dive calls for clear water.
Praia dos Ingleses holds the story of a pirate boat that, after the pirates were arrested, deteriorated and sank 50 meters from the sand. The site was discovered in 1989, when spearfisherman Alexandre Viana found an old jar in the sea off Ingleses. As of March 2019, only 30% of the archaeological site had been excavated, and around 35,000 artifacts had been recovered by that date, among them the oak rudder weighing almost a ton and the bronze bell.
In Florianópolis, the best time to dive tends to run from November to April, with more days of clear water, more pleasant temperatures and smaller swell.
