Brazil
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Poço da Draga was the natural anchorage of Fortaleza, which still had no proper port, and many vessels ended their days there. The wreckage at this site was found in 2010 by divers guided by local fishermen, almost a century after the stranding attributed to the Rio Formoso. The hull plates appear to be welded rather than riveted, which gives a clue to the vessel's age. The propeller, rudder, keel, frames and mooring bollards can still be seen. Marine life is modest, with small lobsters and other small reef fish.
