Brazil
Lagoa dos Ingleses was created as a dam to store rainwater and generate power for the Morro Velho Mine. It used to be called Lagoa Grande and became Lagoa dos Ingleses because of the origin of its founders. Underwater there are small flooded forests, with trunks covered in slime and algae among small fish, while the rest of the bottom is plain, made of red iron-ore soil and clay. Fish in the region include traíras, tilápias and piabas.
