Also known as Sete Pontas, Lagoa do Bonfim covers about 9 km² in Nísia Floresta. Its waters supply the Agreste/Trairi/Potengi water system, which brings water to more than 220,000 people. A local legend explains the seven points: a mother and her children are said to have fled in seven directions from the water that sprang from a spring and to have turned into a single enchanted serpent, which would appear on moonlit nights. Underwater, the bottom is sandy and there is little to see.
