Brazil
On the south face of Ilhote das Cabras, the rocky bottom is home to badejo and garoupa groupers and rays. The islet is part of the Ilha da Vitória archipelago, which lies about 22 km east of Ilha de São Sebastião (Ilhabela) and 30 km from the mainland. The islands of this archipelago have no beaches: they are ringed by rocky shores and coves known as sacos. Ilha da Vitória is home to a traditional caiçara community that lives from artisanal fishing, and around the archipelago there are set gillnets, fish corrals and fishing traps belonging to this community.
