Ilhas das Emerências

The Ilhas das Emerências, de Dentro and de Fora, are among the eight continental islands of the Armação dos Búzios archipelago, together with Rasa, Feia, Branca, Caboclo, Âncora and Gravatá. The islands lie very close to the coast and usually have quite a choppy sea. On rare occasions, the dive there reveals interesting rock formations and an intense presence of passing fish. Municipal Law No. 1,795 of 21/12/2022, which recreated the APAPAB of Búzios, kept the islands and the Laje Seca, or Laje da Emerências, as a restricted fishing area for free diving and line fishing only, limited to boats of up to 10 m and 10 GRT.
