Brazil
Ilha dos Pacotes is the lighthouse island that can be seen from Vila Velha. It is one of the many islands that force ships to navigate carefully on their way into Vitória Bay. Like Itatiaia Island, it is part of the breeding route of terns and shearwaters and is classified as a Special Environmental Interest Zone in the Vila Velha Master Plan. The island is also among the places in Brazil where the Cabot's tern (Thalasseus acuflavidus) has bred, with a record from 1994. The best dives tend to be in summer.
