Brazil
Ilha do Meio lies closer to São Conrado beach than to Barra da Tijuca. It is on the official list of oceanic islands of the city of Rio. Together with Alfavaca, it is less visited by divers than Pontuda, but it has a similar rocky bottom.
There are many passing fish and several holes. The water temperature ranges from 17 to 23 °C. Care is needed with boat traffic and with tidal changes. In the area, trips to the archipelago depend on calm seas to cross the Marapendi Channel safely.
