Brazil
Being farther out and less visited, Ilha de Pargos has a rich and varied fauna, with passing fish and species known locally as badejos, garoupas and sargos-de-beiço. The rocks are covered with corals and gorgonians, and in the main cove the large number of hermit crabs stands out. On the outer side of the island lies the wreck of a small fishing boat, of which some parts, such as the engine and the winches, still remain. In April 2011, the decree that created the Costa do Sol State Park included the island in the Pau-Brasil Unit (Area 26), covering 46.03 hectares.
