Enseada da Parede lies in Lake Paranoá, created in 1959, shortly before Brasília was inaugurated. The lake was formed by damming the Paranoá River during the construction of the capital. It is home to several species of lambari and two native species of acará, as well as introduced species such as peacock bass, tilapia and carp.
