Brazil
At Dolina do João Terêncio, water reaches the surface pushed by pressure, rising through a nearly vertical conduit. The site had already been explored several times: an expedition found lines left by earlier explorers, but no published map of the cave. The researchers believe that it and Dolina do Pai João, about 7 km away, may be part of the same cave system. The entrance of João Terêncio lies about 18 m higher than that of Pai João, which makes a hydrological connection between the two unlikely, although this difference cannot be confirmed at the resolution of the terrain model used.
