Brazil
The Ana Cristina sank on 27 February 1984, at 10:55 a.m., and the recorded cause is poor seamanship. At the top of the reef lies the Hall-type anchor, still housed in the hawsepipe, a sign that there was no time to stabilize the ship. The broken-up bow lies among coral heads, and from it the anchor chain runs almost vertically to the rest of the hull. Because it is a recent wreck, it was not registered as an archaeological site.
In 1997, the hull had abundant life, with many angelfish, groupers and barracudas, the latter being the most numerous, as well as anemones and sponges. In the Parcel region, March tends to be the most suitable month for diving.
