In Dhivehi, "thila" means an underwater pillar. The top of the thila has some coral rocks with stunning fish life. There is a big overhang on the south-east side and two smaller ones on the north-east.
The thila sits in open water, and the grey sharks are always on the current side. Besides them, you will see many pelagic fish and reef fish, such as scorpionfish, pufferfish, surgeonfish, angelfish, bannerfish, grouper and lionfish.
