Maldives
The reef is healthy, full of hard corals and sea anemones, and on a large block of layered coral, blue-striped snappers are mixed with goatfish. On the outer reefs of Addu, the 2016 El Niño bleaching caused major damage to corals. In Addu, the Villingili Shangri-La resort closed indefinitely in 2020.
