The site is presented as being in the resort's "backyard", 10 minutes from Velavaru, with many soft and hard corals right at the door. The overhangs, at all depths, hold surprises such as moray eels, cleaner shrimps and mantis shrimps. Every now and then eagle rays pass through the channel. Divers who visited Dhaalu in 2022 report that the atoll was little known among divers and that they rarely saw boats from other islands at the sites.
