There are overhangs and yellow soft coral, and turtles can be seen. In Baa Atoll, manta rays and whale sharks tend to gather at Hanifaru Bay during the southwest monsoon. Baa Atoll was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2011 for its exceptional biodiversity.
