Maldives
The reef has staircase-like coral formations in places and large coral blocks, with hard and soft coral gardens between them, plus gorgonians and table corals. Animals to expect include reef sharks, eagle rays, tuna, turtles and reef fish, and sometimes manta rays and sailfish in the blue. In Addu, the atoll is known for manta rays, sharks, turtles and bigger fish all year round, rather than for an abundance of small reef fish.
