Maldives
The site lies below the pebble beach of Thoondu, on the north side of Fuvahmulah. The beach's pebble substrate continues underwater and transitions into reef, forming cleaning stations.
Titan and yellowmargin triggerfish are common on the reef slope. Because of its position exposed to the north, barracuda, trevally and occasional reef sharks pass by. There is also a sandbank with flounders, triggerfish, stingrays and electric rays, as well as sea turtles. The reef has numerous reef fish, turtles and, occasionally, eagle rays.
Visibility is usually best from December to April. During the southwest monsoon, from May to October, the north coast is usually more sheltered.
