Maldives
A large tongue of rock acts as a shelter from the current that flows from north to south, and for that reason the soft corals grow there; a canyon cuts through the rock along its whole length. The rock is covered with soft corals in shades of yellow and red sea fans, and cleaning shrimps, lobsters, groupers and moray eels live in the overhangs. There are also varicosa nudibranchs and flabellinas and, in the canyon, schools of yellow snappers and fusiliers, as well as anemones with clownfish.
