Egypt
Sodfa means 'coincidence' in Arabic: the name came from two of the original dive guides in Sharm, who jumped in here thinking they were at another site and realised that, by coincidence, the place looked the same. Very similar to its neighbour Tower, it is visited less than Tower and tends to be quiet. The marine life includes porites with tridacna, glassfish, gorgonians sheltering longnose hawkfishes, many rays and fire coral, as well as little pinnacles with shrimp and moray eels. Heading east the dive gets richer, with more coral and more fish, among them fusiliers, surgeonfish, triggerfish, parrotfish, glassfish, bannerfish and lionfish, and large gorgonians near the edge. From March to the end of June it is possible to see mantas and, occasionally, the white tip reef shark.
