Maldives
Shark Tank is in Hulhumalé, in the shadow of the airport runway and the high-rises of Malé, and is known for some companies feeding the sharks. It is a relatively new dive site. It lies on the other side of a wall where liveaboards anchor and fishing-boat crews gut their catches before processing, and there is a lot of boat traffic because of the proximity to the capital. There is a report of tuna scraps sinking from the surface, shovelled in by workers, creating a "bait vortex".
Up to 200 sting rays can be seen at the site, and large groups of them are also seen. One report mentions huge rays on the sandy seabed.
