Egypt
Shaab Abu Dabbab 5 is a large, long site with a variety of different dive profiles. The south and west sides are protected from the north wind. You can dive part of it on the east side and part on the west side, crossing from one side to the other through caves and open spaces. The Abu Dabab 1 and 4 to 7 reefs are rarely dived, and there is much to explore on them.
Sandy slopes give way to scattered coral pinnacles, hidden caves and swim-throughs. There are big and small coral blocks, caves and open places with striking light.
The caves in the southern part have soft and hard corals and many little fish all around. In the caves you can find butterflyfish, damselfish, hogfish, scorpionfish and also nudibranchs. Across the Abu Dabab reefs in general there are hard coral fields, grottoes, pinnacles, plenty of reef fish and also barracudas and white tip reef sharks.
