Egypt
Sawa Camp Reef lies right in front of the camp, and in December 2020 the snorkeling there was described as exceptional. You can see angelfish, butterflyfish, lionfish and clownfish, along with rarer species. In February 2018, however, the reef was in poor condition, and about 20 to 30 m from the beach the bottom was stony, with large sea urchins. In the Gulf of Aqaba, the mild temperatures usually allow swimming and snorkeling year round.
