Egypt
Little is known about this graveyard of British-made military vehicles at Ras Peter. Among the vehicles dumped in the sea are around 30 Universal Carrier tracked armoured vehicles, also called Bren Carriers, along with Bedford trucks, trucks with trailers and motorcycles. It is said that the Universal Carriers were pushed off a cliff into the water in 1967, during the Six-Day War, to prevent them from falling into Israeli hands. Other vehicles, of Soviet-Egyptian origin, were reportedly dumped into the sea in March 1957, after the Suez Crisis, when Israeli forces were leaving Egypt.
In 2002, the remains of trucks above the water marked the dive site. Among the submerged vehicles there is an unexploded landmine, and there are reports of live ammunition scattered around the site, so the advice is not to touch anything.
