Egypt
The island is crowned by a twelfth-century Crusader castle, which was later held under Saladin and was restored by the Council of Egyptian Antiquities. From the castle walls you can see Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Israel at once. Around the island there are four or five dive sites, depending on the count, one of them a wall dive. Pinnacles are often ringed by schools of long-nose emperor, and glass fish and flying fish appear around them. Turtles, eagle rays, grouper, crocodile fish, frog fish and nudibranchs are also seen, along with wide table corals.
