Maldives
The shallow top of the thila is covered in staghorn coral, with colorful reef fish and turtles. The nurse sharks sleep in the outcroppings of the thila or under coral blocks, out of sight of those snorkeling over the shallow top.
In the far south region, diving is usually good all year round. December to March is usually a good time to dive the far southern atolls and see the shark action, and from January to April the water tends to be warmer and the sea calmer.
