Maldives
There are several cavities connected by a tangle of tunnels, lined with corals. These caves and tunnels are full of life, good for watching macrofauna and other reef creatures in a sheltered environment. Muthaafushi island was leased to the State Trading Organization (STO) in 2010, for 50 years, to become a resort; the agreement was nullified in 2015. In 2011, Baa Atoll received the title of UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for its exceptional biodiversity.
