Maldives
It is usually a drift dive: depending on the current, you descend on the south side, a gentle slope, or on the north side, where the reef is more like a wall over a sandy bottom. The wall is covered in hard corals, with hundreds of anthias and chromis. There is a good chance of seeing sea turtles, stingrays, eagle rays and octopus. In Haa Alifu, the sea usually calms down at the start of December and stays that way until May, before the monsoon.
