Morro Jable, Canary Islands, Spain
El Veril Grande and El Veril Chico form one volcanic wall off Fuerteventura's Jandia peninsula, near the Morro Jable lighthouse, under ten minutes by boat. The wall crests near 20m and drops vertically to 35-40m over a sandy base, cut by small caves, cracks and ledges rather than separate peaks. Visibility runs 10-30m, current stays light (under a knot), water holds 18-24C year-round, clearest from September to November. Garden eels colonize the sand, Canary moray hide in the cracks, stingrays cruise the bottom, and angel sharks still turn up despite being critically endangered elsewhere. Groupers hold by the wall, seabream and barracuda patrol mid-water, bonito schools pass overhead, sperm whales occasionally offshore. Suits Open Water on the plateau through Advanced on the base.
