Maldives
The corals are in good condition and there are plenty of fish, with reef sharks cruising nearby and stingrays resting on the sandy patches. There are two ways to do the dive: one drifts along and, if the current is strong, ends near the ridge of the South Corner; the other follows the sandy cornice, which has coral pinnacles and, on the edge of the second drop-off, small caverns. Diving is possible year-round in the Maldives, and in the region the best conditions typically run from February to May, with calmer seas and better visibility.
