Egypt
The name comes from its position: the reef sits in the middle, between Panorama Reef and Abu Kafan. It has the shape of an enormous mushroom, and on its south side caves and tunnels form a labyrinth that can be swum through.
Along the wall, sandy channels lead into the reef and form small caves and passages nicknamed "Swiss cheese".
Tuna and groups of barracudas are frequently seen, and giant moray eels swim freely over the plateau. Eagle rays sometimes pass by, and on the slope there are octopus and cuttlefish.
