Maldives
The wall is carpeted with sponges and gorgonians, and the top has dense clouds of anthias and chromis. Deeper down, hunting trevally or a curious reef shark sometimes appear. At the western end of the wall there is a narrow man-made channel with a sandy plateau where a variety of sharks can usually be seen patrolling. Diving in the far southern Maldives is possible all year round, but January to April is usually the best time, with warmer water and calm seas.
