Egypt
On the south side of Marsa Shagra there are large coral fans and small soft corals. In the afternoon a school of batfish may appear, sheltering for the night, and on the way back through the bay a crocodilefish and a few snake eels are almost always seen. Along this coast there are green and hawksbill turtles, blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, stingrays and reef fish, and whale sharks and manta rays occasionally pass by. Spinner dolphins can also be seen in the region, especially in the early morning. In the region, the sea is usually slightly calmer from September to May, and September to November are considered the best months for diving.
