Egypt
Marsa Egla bay is divided into two sides, north and south. In the middle of the bay there are turtles, among them green turtles, and rays, and the dugong is often seen. One diver reports seeing, on two consecutive dives, two turtles and a dugong feeding, as well as a seahorse.
The north side gathers large schools of small fish. The south side attracts larger species such as batfish, sweetlips, snappers, moray eels, groupers and porcupinefish, and with luck also turtles and, sometimes, the dugong. The bay is also home to octopus, giant moray eels, Malabar groupers, crocodilefish, scorpionfish, catfish and stingrays. On the south side, the same diver also saw two young sharks.
