There are massive schools of fusiliers and snappers, while schooling sharks and other pelagics cruise in the blue. Manta rays may appear during the northeast monsoon. In Lhaviyani, December to April tends to be the best time to encounter sharks. In the name of the site, "dhekunu" is the Dhivehi word for "south".
