Egypt
The name Madrassah comes from the word 'school' and was given because of the site's versatility for diving courses. At first sight it does not impress, but it is often the dive people ask to repeat. It is a favourite with photographers, since the fish are patient.
Those who dive slowly find stonefish, scorpionfish, pipefish, frogfish and crocodilefish in the nooks and crannies of the reef. Around the corner there are many juvenile fish and their predators, and even an 'anemone city'. In the area, Marsa Mubarak bay has become famous for the large green sea turtles and the dugong that visit the seagrass area next to the beach.
