Last Alternative is considered perfect for night diving. In the Alternatives chain, which it is part of, the coral blocks are small, and they can usually be circled twice in a single dive.
The name Alternatives is modern and comes from the use of these reefs as alternative dives when rough seas make it impossible to reach other sites. Local fishermen call the area Sabʿa ʿIrg, meaning 'seven elevations'.
