Maldives
Hard corals, soft corals and fans richly cover the site and shelter a dense population of reef fish. The coral gardens near the top are full of snappers, groupers and anthias. In some stretches, the reef eases into sandy terraces and coral mounds where turtles and morays are often seen. In the Huvadhoo region, the dry northeast monsoon, from December to April, usually brings the best conditions, with calm seas. The southwest monsoon, from May to November, usually brings more wind and is cited in the region as the best time for large pelagics.
